Girl Falls from 7th Floor While Playing, Dies

A-12- year old girl died after she fell down from passage of seventh floor's lobby of Elegant building situated in Casa Bella township of Dombivli east on Saturday late night. The incident occurred when she was playing with her friends.

On Saturday night, Muskan Shaikh, 12, was playing in the passage of the seventh floor lobby when she slipped from the grill. Manpada police said her friends informed the parents, who then with help of neighbours rushed victim her to the nearby MGM hospital in Dombivli.

Doctors at MGM hospital suggested she be transferred to AIMS hospital in Dombivli, but a doctor at AIMS hospital declared her dead on arrival. Sources said victim's father Munir who works in a tyre shop earlier was living in Navi Mumbai and eight months ago shifted to Casa Bella.

Residents alleged that since they shifted in Casa Bella township they have been demanding to close lobby of passage from where the girl fell. The developer termed it an unfortunate accident A spokesperson said, ``Our thoughts are with the family. We understand that the incident occurred around 10 pm on Saturday night when she climbed over the railing while playing on the 7th floor and fell. The railing is there to a full height of 3'6" and the accident has nothing to do with the railing height - this is a case in which all of us need to learn for the future and monitor and teach children to avoid such risks.''
